This will be a quickie.
I’m on day four of sitting and being with challenging feelings for just fifteen minutes a day. So far, I’ll report that it’s subtly changing the way I experience the pain of grief, anger and fear (including depression and anxiety). The simple instructions with brief explanation are mapped out by Michael Brown as part of his Presence Process. You can do it anywhere; at work, driving a car, or lying in bed when or if you wake up with morning dread. I plan to continue for the prescribed 40 days.
Here are the steps if you’re curious.
This is a video interview with Michael I enjoyed. He seems like someone I’d enjoy hanging out with!
Jeff Brown is another guy I’ve found refreshing. He shares his writing and offerings here on Substack through The Enrealment Newsletter. His latest book Humanifestations is available for free here. Embedded in its pages there are seemingly endless shareable quotes!
Yesterday I tasted the first batch of my homemade L. Reuteri yogurt, what Dr. William Davis refers to as “the yogurt of love” because it allegedly aids in releasing oxytocin. So far I’ve had two servings in my daily smoothies and have felt some effects. I’ll let you know how it goes as I make my way through the first eight jars. There are tons of resources online about the benefits but you can start here if you’re curious. It’s super easy to make but you need the right equipment and supplies.
Also yesterday, inspired by the spring Equinox and ma nature, I went outside and started gardening for the first time this year. I decided to prep a new bed near the house so got involved with lots of vigorous weeding and clearing. Today I plan to prune the plants around the porch. Moving my body outside is therapeutic.
Today it’s been snowing all morning, beautiful gentle flurries. Chico (the dog) was absorbed in finding mice to snack on!
Thanks to everyone who reached out to me after my previous two posts. I’m missing connection so hearing from you has fed my soul!
Sending love and good vibes your way. We’re all in this together!
A quickie but loaded! I watched Michael Brown and listened once through the steps. Today will be one out of forty for me. I just started getting my hands into garden this week too and it feels great. A new season, finding what's peeking out from under the leaves, conversations with the small stuff - it's all positive. Thank you, Josh!
